Discover the new VS Code extension for PostgreSQL, designed to streamline database management and exploration within the world’s most popular IDE. This open-source tool minimizes context switching, enabling developers to seamlessly work in their existing VS Code environment and extensions—including GitHub Copilot—directly within the query editor. It supports any PostgreSQL instance, whether hosted locally, in any cloud, or on-premises, providing maximum flexibility. For Azure users, built-in Azure Entra ID authentication simplifies discovering and connecting to Azure-hosted PostgreSQL servers. If you're new to PostgreSQL, the extension also helps you quickly spin up a local instance, making it easier than ever to get started.
